Service buyers – a part to play in lifting salaries of low-wage workers at condos

We have not arrived at an acceptable matrix to measure what are called good services and what’s not for condos.

When it came time to renew the contracts of companies, some MCSTs would try hard to convince the service providers to renew the contracts at the same, or even a reduced fee.

It is common to find councils of condos expressing at tender phase that good services are expected but at lower fee. Is that possible? Could we go to a 1-star hotel paying a lower fee but expect the hotel condition and its services to be that of a 5-star standard?Certainly not.

There is a mis-match in expectation. Going forward service providers including managing agents for condos should upskill. This is not  just about training but mindset.  The challenging factor is about the manpower available and their  willingness to continue services in condos so that turnover could be mitigated.
