Jack all trades, master of none?

After completing my National Service in 1984, I received two offers: to be an Engineering Assistant at an engineering firm or to be a Property Executive  at a property consultancy firm.

I chose the latter because that latter firm paid me $50 more per month. That $50 to me then was a large sum.

Not long,  I started leading a team of security officers, gardeners, cleaners, technicians and others for the maintenance management of a condo.

Convening meetings and later preparing minutes for those meetings and communications with residents and external parties became an exciting part of the job.

I emceed from the stage  for  lifestyle events such as a Christmas Celebration and sometimes as a cheerleader at friendly  game-competitions of condo residents.

I even led as a tour leader bringing residents to be the first eye-opener at the Night Safari Park when it opened in Singapore some 30 years ago.

Sometime, I met difficult residents.

However, I applied the Art of Empathy.

I became convinced about updating to mitigate issues relating to human expectations.

Condo management is a spirit of versatility and adaptability. It is our ability to bring together many skills and blend them in a talent of our own.

Mastery is not always about a single skill—it is also about embracing and blending many different skills in a way that you can.

Most important, in whatever we do, we poured our hearts into the job.

We are not only the true “Jack of all trades”, we are indeed the Master of Condo Management.

Open your heart to explore this exciting journey to be a Master of Condo Management!
